Expansion card with 24 internal ports to be connected to a SAS controller. It can be connected to the SAS master card either via an internal connector or an external connector.

Please note that a card of this type must be connected to a SAS controller; it cannot operate independently.

The card does not require a PCI or PCIe slot to operate, although a blank 8x connector is provided if you wish to insert the card into a PCIe slot. The card is powered by a 4-pin Molex plug (or by its PCIe connector if you choose to use it).
