To display the image of one of two sources on 1 DVI monitor, or to switch the image of one source to one monitor or the other. The signal is not altered by this switching.
For DVI-D only (for greater flexibility the plugs are DVI-I, but only the DVI-D signal will be processed, this splitter does not process the analog signal).
